1. Who we are
Actuary365 ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at actuary365.ie, an Actuarial careers and industry insights platform based in Ireland. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Actuary365 is the data controller for personal data collected via this site. 2. What data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), role (candidate or employer), and company name.
- Profile data: job title, location, years of experience, LinkedIn URL, CV, skills, and job preferences you choose to provide.
- Activity data: jobs saved, jobs applied to, sweepstake picks, leaderboard standing, and email engagement.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited via cookies and analytics.
3. Why we use your data (lawful basis)
- Contract: to create and operate your account, deliver job alerts, process applications, and administer the sweepstake.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, measure site performance, and improve our service.
- Consent: for non-essential cookies and marketing emails (you can withdraw consent at any time).
- Legal obligation: where required to comply with Irish or EU law.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted processors who help us run the service — for example our hosting and database provider, email delivery provider, and analytics. When you apply for a role, your application and the details you submit are shared with the employer that posted the role. All processors are bound by data processing agreements.
5. International transfers
Some of our processors may host data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognised under GDPR.
6. How long we keep data
We keep account and profile data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after your last sign-in, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Sweepstake entries and leaderboard data are retained for the duration of the tournament and up to 12 months afterwards for record-keeping. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@actuary365.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, audited cloud infrastructure) to protect your data. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep risk to a minimum.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified by email or via a prominent notice on the site.
